The Environmental Case for Responsible Scrapping
Every vehicle contains roughly 25 litres of hazardous fluids — engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and battery acid. Improperly disposed vehicles leach these compounds into soil and groundwater over years. We work exclusively with licensed BC auto recyclers that follow provincial Environmental Management Act standards for fluid extraction, containment, and certified disposal. This isn't a marketing claim — it's a verifiable legal requirement we apply to every facility in our network.
What Happens to Your Scrapped Car
Once we tow your vehicle, it enters a structured decommissioning process. All fluids are drained and contained. Usable components — engines, transmissions, catalytic converters, body panels, glass — are removed and catalogued for the used parts market, reducing demand for new manufactured parts. The remaining steel carcass is crushed, shredded, and sold as raw feedstock to metal processors. BC has some of the most active auto recycling infrastructure in Canada. Less than 5% of a properly processed vehicle ends up in a landfill.
